…and that is why I hit the bottle
The sheer magnitude of what I have done just hit me.
I quit my job to blog for a living.I gave up my nice guaranteed paycheque that comes every 2 weeks. My sole source of income is Adsense, and after 2 days of Adsense Blogging I have not seen a single penny of income from this blog.
I know it has only been 2 days, but one really starts to get worried when you see no progress.I don’t even know if anyone is reading this.My Google Analytics account says I have had 7 visitors in the past few days.I think it is lying.I think don’t anyone has come to read my blog.
If one person could just leave just one comment on my blog it would at least prove to me that someone was here!
As you can tell I m getting a bit worried about this venture, so naturally I’ve hit “the sauce.”Hey, it’s Friday afternoon, why not. I am my own boss, I can drink on the job right?
I just wish I pulled an ‘Edward Norton” when I quit my job, that way I would have a nice severance package to keep me afloat.Instead I have beer to keep me going.
I did some projection math today.I should have done this math prior to starting my blogging career.I guess there is nothing like grabbing the “bull blog by the horns” and hoping for the best.
Here is the math that led to my fear, and subsequent drinking.I had a look through the Google Adsense keyword bidding price list that I received when I purchased the Rich Jerk Program a few weeks ago (PS I highly recommend getting a copy).According to the Rich Jerk the keyword “google adsense” will get you $15.26 per click and the keyword “adsense” gets $3.30 per click.
Now in order to attain my previous “real job” income I need to create a monthly income of $4000 per month.I am pretty sure that my blog will attract the lower click price of $3.30.Now in order to attain my previous income I would have to make $133.33 per day(I’m doomed). That’s around 40 clicks per day!
Now you see why I am hitting the bottle.
Well, today was a pretty blah blog post. All serious and not humourous makes a boring blog.I think the drink combined with the sense of self inflicted impending doom really contributed…sorry.

What if you achieve 400 clicks a day with a click price of 35 cents?
Then I would be $7 richer each day by making $140 per day instead of $133.33333333333333333333333333333333
(will google pay out my repeated 0.003 cents?)
Welcome to the club. What you will soon learn the hard way about blogging is that as soon as you make enough money from Adsense Google will cut you off and claim that you are clicking your own links. All the money you made will stay with Google and your be forced spend quality time with your new drinking problem. This recently happened to me and I have been drinking since. I suggest Young’s Double Chocolate Stout for your extra nervous depressing days.
Is this a common occurrence? How much did they withhold from you?
Good luck with this project. You are going to need it.
lol good luck. When I used adsense it was by far the lowest paying form of advertising.
