‘Get Bitchy’ and You Could Win My Blog’s Revenue for 1 Week
Step out of the way, because I am joining the herd. When I chose to make a blog I was always saying that I will do my own thing, I will march to my own drumbeat, but I swear that the longer I blog, the closer I get to conforming to the rest of the blogs out there. I read a lot of the “standard” make money blogging blogs and I think they are beginning to affect my skills. They are becoming my kryptonite, and I am losing my blogging super powers.

Ever since I came back from the hospital I have been boring. Maybe my Appendix contained all my blogging powers…
.
In order to fix this situation I have decided to do what every other blog on the planet does…hold a contest. The goal of this contest is to help me get me blogging powers back, and of course drop some cash in your pocket, or inside your shoe if you do not have pockets (there is nothing like paying for something with a wet sweaty bill).

The prize for the contest is going to be a variable, I am going to give away my blog earnings (from all my blogs) for the length of the contest which begins today, February 12th and ends February 19th. My average weekly earnings is around $5, so I will at least give out $5 if my earings do not go over that amount. I’m just a poor blogger so that is all I can afford!

To be entered into this contest all you have to do is add a comment to this post and make a suggestion for an improvement to the blog (design, layout, plugins… whatever), tell me what you like about my blog, or give me an idea as to how I can get my blogging powers back. I miss them …a lot.

You do not even need to make an original idea, if you agree with with someones idea just say that you agree with them, and you will be entered. It’s a super simple contest.

I will choose the winners at random by using some kind of randomizer that people use to choose contest winners, and I will pay the winner via PayPal, I will post the results of the contest on February 20th. Good Luck to all, and I look forward to your comments!

Mike: I have never been a fan of the layout either, but I am trying to have a layout the stands out and doesn’t look like every other blog out their. Of course due to the cringing factor perhaps I should revisit my stance on ‘cookiecutters’

Scooter: As obtrusive as it seems, that position is responsible for doubling my page views. Even though it looks horrible, it works.

Suffice it to say…my blog is as good as a bag of moldy tangerines.
Well i have to agree with the others the layout is a point that may need a bit of tweaking, but then again i can’t talk mine is out of the box wordpress:p
I would also recommend grabbing ‘firebug’ addon for firefox and also the ‘yslow’ addon for a bit of performance tweaking. Not saying that your site is slow its speed is great but just those tools are useful for tweaking templates.
Also regarding the adds i would recommend putting them in the ‘right column’ i.e. in parallel to the text that way they get more ‘eye’ time.

Everyone has said that the layout has to go, so it’s gone. I spent this evening revamping it. It’s not finished just yet, still a work in progress, but please let me know what you think of the new format
Somebody preffer performance over good design.It is difficult to have both.Especially if you are beginner.

Pehaps… a website called “Living on Adsense” should actually have adsense ads…?
OnyxSparrow- I do have adsense ads. I must have integrated them so well that you do not even see them. Check out some posts besides this one and you will see the adsense.
I think you should do something with the ‘About’ and ‘Example’ pages that you have links on the top navigation. Either add some content, or remove them.
I am kind of an addict of ‘About’ pages and I get rather annoyed by 404’s.
